The Mariani family immigrated in the late 1800’s to California. The Mariani family has several legacy family-owned companies operating successfully for over 100 years.
One scion of the extended family focused on building and building materials for over 100 years. The Marianis were early farmers who grew into an international food company and real estate development interest. We were never far from our Agri-business roots.

The Casey Family
The Casey family, led by Stephen Casey, was born and raised in the backcountry of Australia. As a brilliant athlete, he earned a track and field scholarship to Oregon State University and decided to stay and raise his family in America. The Casey family’s core business is a classic American story, starting with nothing to building one of the largest fireplace and mantel businesses in America.
CaMar Systems
The Casey Family and Mariani Family came together to develop custom CaMar Bee Products. With Casey’s design/manufacturing expertise together with the Mariani Family’s understanding of agribusiness and bee-related requirements, CaMar Bee Products was born.
After nine years of studying bee-related issues, funding university grants, and field-testing different hive solutions around the world, we developed our own proprietary Langstroth and Layen horizontal hive systems. The CaMar system is now available to the beekeeping industry. The CaMar hive system can be purchased directly or secure the use of these systems through the Bee Bank Bee habitat program.
The system was designed with the bee in mind. Bees lived for about 30 million years as forest-dwelling animals, making their homes in the hollows of trees that were both highly insulated and well-ventilated. A tree hollow can have up to three feet of wood above the colony for good reason. A warm ceiling prevents condensation from humid, warm interior air. The improved health of the bees and the greater harvestable honey are now well-documented at several Universities.
Since a three-foot-thick wooden lid is impractical, we reverse-engineered the average R-values of a tree hollow using specially designed proprietary composite materials. As a result, we addressed the most significant environmental challenges associated with conventional hive technology.
